Anya Hindmarch's Chubby Heart returns to London 'to spread the love'

Remember the giant heart balloons that took over Instagram last year? One has returned – and just in time for Valentine's Day.

The brainchild of designer Anya Hindmarch, Londoners can now see a giant heart squashed between the pillars of Wellington Arch, by Hyde Park Corner.

Known as the Chubby Hearts project, the social media fad is back for a second time around thanks to English Heritage, the City of Westminster Council, the British Fashion Council and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Unlike last year, there will sadly only one heart gracing the skies this year.

Speaking about the project, Hindmarch said: "We have been overwhelmed by requests for us to run the Chubby Hearts Campaign again this Valentine’s Day. So in tribute to our wonderful city London, a single Chubby Heart will appear once again in the iconic Wellington Arch.

"This time, it marks the beginning of an international Chubby Hearts Project to spread the love from London to other cities later in the year."

Sadiq Khan added: “I’m delighted to see the Chubby Hearts return to the capital. It sends a clear signal around the world that London is open to creativity and talent, and always will be.”

So that there's enough time to 'gram it, the giant thing will remain in sight until the end of London Fashion Week, next Tuesday February 20.
