'Anxious' gardai issue appeal over death of man, 55, at home in Killarney, Co Kerry

Gardai are "anxious" to speak anyone with information about a man who was found dead at a home in Co Kerry.

The body of Thomas Carton, 55, was discovered at a house in Torc Terrace, Killarney on Wednesday.

Detectives say they are keeping an "open mind" in their investigation.

Mr Carton's body was removed to University Hospital Kerry for a postmortem on Thursday.

However, the results of the examination are not being released for operational reasons.

A spokesman said: "A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room has been set up in Killarney Garda Station.

"The scene is still currently preserved and a technical examination by the local Scenes of Crime Unit is ongoing.

"Gardaí are continuing to keep an open mind in relation to this matter and are trying to establish the movements of Thomas Carton in the days leading up to his death.

"Gardaí are particularly anxious to hear from people who may have seen or spoken to Thomas in recent days or who may have any information whatsoever in relation to his death."

Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 - 667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
