Anushka Sharma accompanies Virat Kohli to field before kickstarting his 100th test match, netizens react

On Friday Virat Kohli was joined by wife Anushka Sharma on the field right ahead of his 100th test match taking place in Mohali, Punjab. He was bestowed with a ceremonial cap by former cricketer Rahul Dravid to mark his achievement before beginning the game against Sri Laka in the first of the two-test series.

While Anushka looked like a vision in white during the ceremony, their daughter Vamika was also present at the venue as she cheered with Virat’s mother and brother from the stadium stand.

After receiving the ceremonial cap, Virat was spotted handing it out to the actress and said, “Ye le jao please (please keep it)." The couple also shared a hug and happily posed for cameras before kickstarting the much-waited match. He also shared a few lines before his match. Crediting his family, he said, “I would like to thank my wife, my mom, and my brother in the stands.”

Meanwhile, Anushka’s presence on the field has now sparked a new debate on Twitter as netizens are sharing mixed views on the same.

One user wrote, “Can BCCI explain what was Anushka Sharma doing on the field? Is this a family event or an international test match. Don’t make mockery of cricket just to satisfy some inflated egos.”

“People questioning why @AnushkaSharma was with @imVKohli the ground. Well they should question their existence also because these people deserve to be held and declared as inhuman because they think having one of family members by your side will deteriorate your performance,” added another.

“Anushka Sharma is better half of Virat Kohli there is no reason she can't be there #AnushkaSharma,” said yet another one.
