A student at one of the Australian National University residential halls has tested positive for COVID-19.
Residents of Wright Hall were notified about the case by email on Thursday morning, according to student media outlet Woroni.
An ANU spokesman confirmed a resident in one of the halls had received the positive COVID-19 result and contact tracing was under way.
"This is understandably a difficult situation for the individual and in respect for their privacy, we won't be divulging any further detail.
"Our entire community wishes them a speedy recovery."
The spokesman said the resident was in quarantine and was being supported by the university.
"We are working with ACT Health to ensure they have access to care and support. The individual is following directions from ACT Health.
"We are also working to assist ACT Health with contact tracing and all residents are following the university and ACT Health's directions.
"As always, the safety and wellbeing of our community remain our highest priority.
"All residents are required to quarantine until they get further information."
In the first days of the current ACT lockdown, eight ANU residences were put under enhanced stay-at-home orders after some students were deemed close contacts of a positive case. Days later five more were under extra lockdown measures, but no clusters emerged.
ANU students are continuing with remote learning for the rest of semester 2.
