Antrim star named in Camogie Third Level Championships Team of the Year

Antrim star Róisín McCormick has been named in the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Championships Team of the Year.

The Loughgiel ace is selected at full-forward following an incredible season for TU Dublin, who clinched the Ashbourne Cup for the first time with McCormick landing the winning free against UCC after extra-time in last month’s final.

Earlier this year, Electric Ireland announced their new partnership with the Camogie Association, which sees Electric Ireland support the game across grassroots, Higher Education and inter-county levels.

In a season filled with stand-out team and individual performances, TU Dublin were crowned Ashbourne Cup winners for the first time ever, overcoming a dominant UCC side at Dave Billings Park, Belfield.

In this year’s Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Rising Stars 2023 Team of the Year, Ashbourne Cup Champions, TU Dublin, are well represented with five players included while beaten finalists UCC have four representatives on the team. Beaten semi-finalists, DCU DÉ and SETU Waterford each have two players represented while two players from UL also feature.

This year’s Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Rising Star Player of the Year is TU Dublin’s Megan Dowdall. Megan’s ball winning ability and eye for the posts made her almost unstoppable during TU Dublin’s Ashbourne Cup campaign.
