Antrim Road reopens following 'serious crash'

Police have reopened a road in North Belfast this afternoon following a serious collision in the area.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Antrim Road following reports of a crash.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the Antrim Road in north Belfast is closed in both directions between Cliftonville Road and Duncairn Gardens following a serious road traffic collision.

"Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route for your journey."

In an update on Sunday afternoon, police confirmed the road had reopened and traffic could now travel along the route.

There are no further details at this stage.

In other traffic news, police are advising road users that the M1 Eastbound from Jct15 (Stangmore) to Jct14 (Tamnamore) will be closed this Sunday morning, January 15th from 08:30 for Police Investigations. ]

"Please find an alternative route for your journey."
