A Country Antrim composites manufacturing company is to double its turnover with the creation of over 150 new jobs.
Jans Group said the move is part of a £10 million investment which has seen it establish four new companies from the composites business it acquired from Wrightbus in 2019.
It has formed Etrux, a sustainable focused lightweight commercial vehicle business with a manufacturing base at Jans Group’s Antrim site and a sales and leasing team in England; Jans Off Site Solutions, which constructs modular buildings for the leisure and residential market; Jans Finance which provides purchase and leasing options for customers and Jans Lifestyle, a retail outlet based on Belfast’s Boucher Road.
Ronan Hamill, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jans Group, said he is confident for the future and expects to grow turnover to £50 million annually with the next five years.
“In 2019, there was an opportunity to take what we did and create something much bigger which was rooted in the community,” he said. “This opportunity has grown exponentially with the formation of various companies under the Jans Group brand, which includes our initial company, Jans Composites.
“Our main aim behind the establishment of Jans Group was to broaden our customer base, bring innovative new products to market and build a business that would support the livelihood of those who work there.”
He said he was keen to put Antrim on the map.
“Occasionally, those towns outside Belfast can be forgotten about but we want to make Antrim a centre for innovation, creativity, opportunity, and expansion. We know that Antrim and the surrounding districts have very skilled workers, and our desire is to provide a working environment that is progressive, forward thinking and innovative for those people.”
Mr Hamill said the retail business will be an outlet for existing product ranges including garden furniture, hot tubs, e-bikes as well as camper van sales and rentals.
