Antrim Area Hospital welcome new ICU environment for patients and staff

The team at the Intensive Care Unit at Antrim Area Hospital have welcomed a brand new space to settle.

Having moved nine times over the course of the pandemic, a spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care Trust said it was great for the team to "finally have a home they can settle in to".

The new area is spacious and features some impressive new windows.

A statement read: "Our ICU Team in Antrim Area Hospital have a new home

"After 20 challenging months the new Intensive Care Unit opened this week with increased space, a much improved environment for our patients and staff and some very fancy windows - kudos to the Estates Team!

"ICU have now moved 9 times over the course of the pandemic so it’s great to finally have a home they can settle in to.

"The energy and dedication of staff throughout the entire hospital site (and beyond) to get us to this point has been amazing

"Good luck Team ICU!"
