Antony outlines what he noticed about Man Utd when he watched win over Liverpool

Antony has revealed he was left delighted with Manchester United as he watched on as they defeated Liverpool last week.

The Red Devils had lost both of Erik ten Hag 's first two games in charge heading into the visit of the Reds last Monday. That poor form left Ten Hag desperate for a win, with his side duly delivering a stunning victory over their fierce rivals.

Casemiro had been announced as their latest signing on the day of the game, with the midfielder watching on from the stands at Old Trafford. But he was not the only Brazilian international who was keeping tabs on how the Red Devils were getting on.

Antony had been a target of United's for much of the summer transfer window, with the deal finally being completed on deadline day. The move gathered pace over the past fortnight, with Antony even tuning in to take in the clash with Liverpool.

“Of course I watched it. When United scored I celebrated as if I was a fan in the stands. I watched the game closely and attentively, what stood out was the desire, the unity of the team, the fire in their bellies, the desire to play," he told MUTV.

"That's what delighted me about the team. I absolutely watched the game, every minute of it and was really happy with the win and celebrated a lot. I've been dreaming about this, I've been losing sleep thinking about it, my head and heart were here.

"Erik knows, everyone at Manchester United knows about my desire to be here and wear the United shirt. I can't wait to put my boots on and start playing and helping my teammates, I'm really looking forward to it.”

Having been left delighted by their performance against Liverpool, Antony would have seen them defeat Southampton. He is set to be in the stands when they take on Leicester on Thursday, with the Brazilian admitting his move to United is a 'dream come true'.

“First of all, I’m really happy to be here at Manchester United. It’s my dream come true. I’m really grateful for the support and faith shown in me by everyone here. I want to make history here, I hope to achieve great things with the club," he added.

"I'm delighted and honoured to look at my chest and see that I’m wearing the badge of this massive club. Erik ten Hag is an excellent coach. He's a manager I have respect and affection for. Now I'm alongside him once again, I hope to make history and develop and grow further under his management.

"It's a dream come true to be wearing this shirt. They can expect a lot of desire, dedication and fight from me, I always play with a lot of heart. I will always honour the fans with desire, fire in my belly, and full of heart. They can rest assured that all the effort and challenges for me to be here will have been worth it."
