Antony FIFA 22 rating analysed as Manchester United complete £85m transfer

Antony is officially a Manchester United player, with the forward signing from Ajax in a deal rising up to £85.1m on deadline day.

Since Erik ten Hag's appointment as United manager, Antony was a top target, having played under the Dutch manager at Ajax. Several bids later, United finally have their man, with the Brazilian signing on a five-year contract with the option of an additional year, becoming the second biggest signing in United's history.

There are big expectations for the 22-year-old, and if his FIFA 22 profile is anything to go by, there's a reason United fans are so excited by his arrival.

So, how does Antony compare to the rest of the United squad on FIFA 22? We assessed the Brazilian's in-game profile to find out how he fares against his new teammates.

Antony's FIFA 22 rating analysed

Overall rating: 82/100

Overall Potential : 89/100

Position: RW

Weak Foot: Three Star

Skill Moves: Five Star

After initially starting FIFA 22 with a rating of 79 overall when the game was launched, Antony's rating increased by three ratings over the course of the season, currently rated 82 out of 99. The Brazilian also has an extremely high potential rating of 89 out of 99, which would make him one of the best attackers in the game.

Compared to current attackers in the United squad, only Cristiano Ronaldo (91), Bruno Fernandes (87) and Jadon Sancho (85) are rated higher than Antony, with Marcus Rashford rated the same (82). For comparison, Antony Elanga is rated 72 out of 99.

If Antony was to hit his potential rating of 89 out of 99, that would make him the second highest-rated player in the United squad, and also make him the sixth highest-rated player in the league. His potential is the same as Sancho's (89), and it's higher than Rashford's (86), Elanga's (86) and Alejandro Garnacho's (84).

If Antony reaches his full FIFA 22 potential, the game suggests that he could become as good as the likes of Sadio Mane, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Antony boasts extremely impressive movement attributes in FIFA 22, with his acceleration (95), agility (92), sprint speed (91) and balance (85) some of his highest-rated stats. The Brazilian also has high dribbling (87) and ball control (86), whilst his finishing (76), shot power (73) and composure (80) show he still has room for improvement when it comes to shooting.

With FIFA 23 set to be released on Friday, September 30, 2022, all attention turns to what rating could Antony be in the upcoming release. With the forward currently rated 82 out of 99 in offline modes, three ratings higher than what he started the game as and on Ultimate Team, we predict United's new signing will start FIFA 23 rated 82 out of 99 in offline modes and in Ultimate Team.

Overall, Antony's FIFA 22 profile shows that United have an exciting and explosive winger on their hands with bags of potential, with the Brazilian already a very good player. His pace attributes can help United become even more dangerous in counter-attacking situations, whilst his dribbling and skill could prove to be important against a deep defensive opponent.
