Antonio Valencia address his future after Ander Herrera confirms Man Utd exit

Antonio Valencia says he wants to play for a "further two or three years" as he prepares to leave Manchester United on a free at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old's contract expires in the summer and Manchester United have opted against offering the winger turned wing-back a new deal.

Valencia has hinted he is leaving Old Trafford over the past few months on social media, even thanking the fans for the support they have given him during his ten years at the club.

But the former Wigan man has now dropped the bombshell that he intends to hold crunch talks with his advisors after the final game of the season against Cardiff City as he would like to continue playing football - perhaps even to the age of 36.

Ander Herrera's goodbye message in full as he quits Man Utd

"I am just concentrated in the Copa America with my nation... after tomorrow's final game at Old Trafford," Valencia told PA.

"After this I will sit down with my family and advisors and give the matter thought as I'd like to play for a further two, three years."

He added: "My message to all Manchester United fans on behalf of myself and my family is to thank you for giving me your undivided support.

"I wish them all the best for the future and that future teams provide you with great victories on the field."

Man Utd stars look worried as they arrive at training as Ander Herrera quits club

The Spaniard, who failed to agree terms on an extension at Old Trafford, released a heart-felt message for the United fans.

"There is red in my heart, I knew it from the first time I played here and in the moment that I first started to wear it.

"A club with thousands of fans that respect and remember all the players who give everything.

"I felt special when I heard my name chanted, I felt proud when the fans decided I was part of this incredible history.

"Every time I represented this club in wins and losses even when I couldn't help from the grass. I understood what this club means.
