Antonio Rudiger insists Chelsea wanted revenge amid fury over FA Cup celebrations

Antonio Rudiger has blasted Leicester after their FA Cup celebrations following their win over Chelsea at the weekend.

The Foxes landed their first FA Cup in their history on Saturday at Wembley after Youri Tielemans decided the final with a rocket of a shot.

It was a hefty blow for the Blues, who have the Champions League final to contend later this month.

But Daniel Amartey infuriated the Chelsea squad after a video emerged of the Ghanaian throwing the club's penchant over his shoulder during their dressing room celebrations.

The Stamford Bridge outfit enacted their revenge on Tuesday night in a 2-1 win in front of their own fans.

With time running out, a poor challenge on former Leicester star Ben Chilwell triggered a mass brawl with Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta gunning for Amartey.

Rudiger was also heavily involved and after the victory the German admitted that Chelsea were out for blood.

He told Chelsea TV: “Unfortunately some people in the Leicester team don't know how to celebrate and we had to punish them, 100 per cent.

“Some of them gave us a bit more motivation after Saturday.

"Congratulations to them for winning, celebrate and everything, but don't disrespect club history. This is a bit bigger than you.”

Chelsea's win over Leicester was a huge boost in their battle for a top-four spot in the Premier League.

Liverpool beat West Brom in dramatic fashion when Alisson scored a last-gasp winner from a corner, which means they are in pole position to leapfrog themselves into a Champions League position.

If the Reds win both their last games against Burnley and Crystal Palace, it means if either Chelsea or Leicester drop points in their last matches, one of them will drop out.

It sets up a dramatic grandstand finish in the Premier League with it all to play for.
