Antonio Rudiger and the six other players Chelsea could sell to fund two major transfers

Chelsea could part ways with up to seven players over the next six months as Frank Lampard looks to transform his side into consistent Premier League and Champions League challengers.

That's according to Sky Sports Italia journalist Angelo Mangiante, who claims the Blues are preparing for an exodus when the window opens in just over a week's time.

Mangiante claims Chelsea are willing to get rid of Antonio Rudiger, Andres Christensen, Jorginho, Marcos Alonso, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses over the next six months as they look to raise money for even more incomings.

The Blues spent more than £200million in the summer and according to Mangiante, they want to raise money to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

To sign those players, Chelsea will need to raise a fair bit of cash and to do that, they are apparently willing to sell a number of players.

Rudiger was reportedly close to departing in the last window but decided to stay and fight for his place. Though, to little avail with Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva Frank Lampard's preferred options at centre-back.

That could also leave Christensen looking for a new club, while Jorginho would be a more surprising departure given he has featured heavily this season.

The out-of-favour Alonso would be a more predictable sale and that's also the case for Drinkwater, whose move to Chelsea in 2017 just has not worked out.

The situation could be a little more complicated for Moses and Barkley, who are on loan at Spartak Moscow and Aston Villa respectively, but it could be a case of those moves being made permanent with the latter certainly keen on the England midfielder.

As for incomings, Rice has been a target for some time and it seems Lampard won't give up on that one, but Haaland's arrival could be more of a long-term project given Chelsea have only recently spent on Timo Werner, who himself has been forced out wide due to the form of Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud, plus interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
