Antonio Gates loves idea of QB Tom Brady joining Chargers

The Tom Brady to the Los Angeles Chargers chorus isn’t going to come to an end until we know where the 42-year old is going to play in 2020.

Fans and analysts have voiced that it would be a great pairing. Well, you can add recently retired tight end Antonio Gates to the choir.

“If he comes here, I’m gonna be a big fan. I heard that he might come out here and bless us with his presence, and if he does that, it would be a great sight to see in L.A,” Gates said.

Brady is set to hit the free agency market. Quarterback Philip Rivers, who he caught passes from for 15 years, is currently a free agent this year as well.

Instead of advocating the team re-signing Rivers, he appeared to be more bought into the idea of bringing in another veteran quarterback to take the reins in 2020.

This isn’t to say that he was bashing Rivers – but more so just responding to the direction question that the reporter asked him and delivering his opinion.

There still hasn’t been an update on Rivers. Should the Chargers choose to move on from the 38-year old, he has said that he would be open to playing for another team in the NFL – that’s if he hasn’t changed his mind on retirement as the answer.
