Antonio Conte will NOT take Tottenham training today but will be new manager in time for Vitesse

Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici have not wasted any time with Tottenham set to confirm Antonio Conte as the club's new head coach on Tuesday.

Deciding to part with Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday morning after only four months in the job, Spurs have swiftly made their move to tie up a deal for the highly-rated Italian.

With an official announcement imminent, the former Chelsea boss is expected to pen an 18-month contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Moving quickly to appoint Jose Mourinho as Mauricio Pochettino's replacement in 2019, Levy has done exactly the same two years on as he bids to get his team back on track.

The arrival of Conte comes ahead of Thursday's Europa Conference League clash against Vitesse Arnhem, before the team then travel to Goodison Park on Sunday to take on Everton in the Premier League.

Tottenham players will get to sample life under Conte for the first time on the training ground this week but football.london understands that they will actually have to bide their time until they can actually work with the 52-year-old.

As the Italian and his coaching staff are coming to the UK from another country, they are all currently waiting on work permits as things stand.

football.london believes that Tottenham aren't expected to receive the required work permits for a couple of days but they are hopeful they will be in place for Thursday morning so Conte can be in the dugout for the Vitesse clash.

If not, Sunday's game against Everton will be the Italian's first in charge of the Lilywhites.

The Tottenham team were at Hotspur Way on Monday as planned to take part in their recovery sessions with the club's sport science department despite Espirito Santo's exit.
