Antonio Conte treated for irregular heartbeat after Inter Milan match

Antonio Conte was treated by Inter Milan's medical staff following the draw with Cagliari after suffering from an irregular heartbeat.

Former Chelsea boss Conte went onto the pitch at the final whistle of the 1-1 draw on Sunday to confront referee Gianluca Manganiello

Lautaro Martinez was sent off at the end of the match with reserve goalkeeper Tommaso Berni also seeing red.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports Conte had to be held back by his coaching staff and was later treated for tachycardia.

The condition is when an individual's heart rate is more than 100 bpm.

It is claimed Conte, who did not take part in any post-match interviews, was treated by the Inter medical staff.

Inter had taken the lead through Martinez, after a fine cross from Ashley Young on his debut.

Radja Nainggolan grabbed an equaliser for the visitors against his former club as Inter remained in second in the Serie A table.

They are expected to bolster their ranks with the signing of Christian Eriksen, who arrived in Milan on Monday morning.

Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said: "We are not hiding, we have been negotiating with Tottenham for some time.

“I am optimistic, I hope to conclude as quickly as possible. I am confident that it can be resolved in the next few days."

Marotta stopped short of claiming that Eriksen's arrival would lead to the departure of Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino, who has been linked with moves to Premier League pair Manchester United and Everton.

“A good player is arriving, then the dynamics of the transfer window are still being evaluated in-house," continued the Inter chief.
