Antonio Conte may have been proved right about Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.
Conte looks set to be appointed as the next Tottenham manager with Spurs finally appearing close to finding a long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho.
Reports say the Italian is in discussions with Tottenham after leaving Inter Milan and that talks are progressing nicely ahead of a proposed appointment.
Conte won the Premier League during his time with Chelsea, and during his 15 months at the club, he made an interesting prediction over one of the Blues' young defenders, Christensen, after the now 25-year-old spent some time in the first team.
He said in 2018: "Personally I forgot his mistake. When you are a player, during your career you can make a lot of mistakes.
"Christensen is having a fantastic season and he is showing great maturity. His performance was wonderful.
"I trust Christensen. I think this player is the present and also for the future for Chelsea. He can also become the captain of this team."
That prediction may yet come true given the Danish centre-back's impressive form this season under Thomas Tuchel.
Christensen made 27 appearances for the Blues across all competitions this season, but while he wasn't always the first-choice centre-back, he hugely impressed in the latter stages of the season, also playing a part in the Champions League final victory over Manchester City.
And that form might just be down to Tuchel, with Christensen explaining in February: "All the manager says is just be comfortable.
"If you don’t need to play the ball, you don’t have to. Wait for someone to come and take the ball, don’t take last-second decisions, know what you’re going to do and make it happen.
"He just said to us to be comfortable and believe in ourselves. I have played in the middle of the three before and I’m quite comfortable there."
Christensen will be hoping to nail down a starting spot next season having already made his mark under Tuchel.
