New Tottenham boss Antonio Conte must consider selling Harry Kane if his heart isn't in his North London revolution - according to a former Spurs star.
The nuclear option is becoming increasingly realistic just three months after a bumper £100m offer was rejected from Manchester City.
Kane remains the captain at Tottenham but his form has been abject and he has only managed two Premier League goals all season.
And pundit Jamie Redknapp says a final solution can not be off the table if Conte believes Kane is no longer a viable option for the team he has represented with distinction.
He said: "If I was the manager of that club right now and took over the job, how do I get Harry Kane going? You need to have a conversation with him - 'How do you feel about being at this club? Do you want to be here? Are you part of my plans?'.
"If he says no, I'd try to sell him in January. If he doesn't want to be there, I think you've got to look at the situation where you're going to give it all and make sure you get back to the level."
Pep Guardiola was left scorned by several failed attempts to land Kane in the summer but City still need a No.9.
He said: "Tottenham did not want to negotiate. They didn’t want to talk, so we didn’t talk. We tried to open the door but the big master of negotiations, Daniel Levy, who knows everything, wouldn’t. Maybe I would do the same if I had Harry Kane."
Conte's 20-month contract has an option for another year and the no-nonsense Italian is known for his ability to turn flagging teams around.
He was won league titles with Juventus, Inter and Chelsea and will be hell-bent on guiding Tottenham back into the Champions League this season.
