Antonio Conte reveals Tottenham injury concern for Chelsea match and gives Oliver Skipp update

Antonio Conte has revealed that Clement Lenglet is set to miss out through injury on Sunday when Tottenham travel to Chelsea in the Premier League. Joining from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal, the centre-back made his official Spurs bow last weekend when he came off the bench late on in the 4-1 win over Southampton.

However, the French international has an adductor issue and the boss has stated it is "not good to take a stupid risk" at Stamford Bridge. His absence means that Ben Davies will carry on in the left-sided role in the back three.

As well as discussing Lenglet's injury, the boss has also confirmed that Oliver Skipp is a couple of weeks away from a return. Sustaining an injury in training prior to the pre-season game away at Rangers, the midfielder suffered a hairline fracture in his heel that has since kept him on the sidelines.

"About my injuries, a little problem with Clement Lenglet. I don't think he is available for the game against Chelsea or for sure the next game against Wolverhampton (Wanderers). He had a little problem, and then Skipp needs a couple of weeks before being available. All the other players are good. " said Conte in his pre-match press conference.

"It's a little problem of fatigue and he's [Lenglet] a bit tired in his adductor. Nothing serious, only a precaution but it's not good to take a stupid risk for one game."
