Antonio Conte offers no assurances on Hugo Lloris’ Tottenham future

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is unable to give any assurances over the future of Hugo Lloris.

The World Cup-winning French captain is out of contract in the summer and, while the Spurs boss has previously suggested the club would look to sit down and discuss a new deal with him, Conte suggested there were other priorities.

While the 34-year-old did attract criticism under Jose Mourinho, the former Lyon stopper has largely been back at his best this season.

"Hugo is our captain, he is a player that played for Tottenham for many years and we are all happy to have him in our team, in the squad and in the dressing room,” he said.

"For sure he is a point of reference for the other players and Hugo knows very well what I think about him and what the club thinks about him.

"Now we’ll see but I think Hugo won’t be ever a problem for Tottenham."
