The results keep on coming for Antonio Conte at Tottenham following Wednesday evening's 2-1 success over West Ham in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Impressing in the first half with goals from Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura either side of Jarrod Bowen's strike, the Lilywhites managed the game incredibly well in the remaining 45 minutes as David Moyes' side upped the pressure.
Having a bit of a scare in stoppage time as Andriy Yarmolenko struck the crossbar following a deflection, Spurs deserved their win and credit has to go to Hugo Lloris after the World Cup winner played a pivotal role with some fine saves.
Setting up a semi-final showdown with London rivals Chelsea in the process, the success over the Hammers means that Conte has now won five of his eight games in charge so far following quite the turnaround in N17.
Wanting to improve the levels of his players and the team since coming in at the start of November, there has been a big improvement on the pitch and his intense work at Hotspur Way is starting to pay off.
Conte is currently evaluating his squad as he gets his plans in place for the future and everyone at the club will be doing everything they can at present to ensure they remain in his thinking going forward.
Whereas a number of those on the periphery of the first team under Nuno Espirito Santo didn't take their chance when it came their way, that cannot be said about Conte.
Starting the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Harry Winks and Dele Alli last Sunday against Liverpool, the trio were three of the team's standout players on the night and more than played their part in the thrilling 2-2 draw.
Winks and Alli were perhaps seen as two who would have to move on under Conte but he seems to have taken a real shine to the former due to his hard work on the training pitch and he was also very complimentary of the latter after the Liverpool game and also before West Ham.
The duo really have given the 52-year-old something to think about and their form under him highlights what a difference a new coach can make to a player.
Following the turn of Sessegnon, Winks and Alli at the weekend, Wednesday evening saw Bergwijn in the limelight after such a stop-start 2021/22 campaign.
Impressing in the opening weeks under Espirito Santo before spending time on the sidelines through injury, the Dutchman has had to make do with a bit-part role under the Portuguese's replacement.
Always looking like he needed a goal last season to spark him into life and help him get back to his best, the winger linked up incredibly well with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to net the opener before teeing up Lucas with a driving run into the box.
Bergwijn looked more like his old self and he thoroughly deserved his standing ovation when he made way on the hour mark for Son Heung-min.
Conte's impact in his first seven weeks as Tottenham head coach is clear for all to see and the improvement of some of those who have struggled over the past year is testament to him.
Asked how good it is to see players come into the team and grasp their opportunity with both hands, he said: "I always said that I found a group of players that showed me from the first day great commitment, good behaviour and a good desire to show me that we can build something important together. I think I’m very happy to have this type of answer tonight.
"Doherty and Steven Bergwijn, they played a really good game. It means they’re working well. They’re involved in what we want to do.
"I’m always very clear with my players. They have to give me everything and then if they deserve to play, they play.
"The most important thing is that when they play they have to give me everything. It doesn’t matter about a good game or bad game, but I have to see players totally involved in what we want to do."
With all players putting in the work on the training pitch and showing Conte that they deserve to play, he now has his ideal situation in north London as he plots his future plans with Fabio Paratici.
A big few weeks for the club as the January transfer window will allow the head coach to make some changes to the squad, as those who previously looked like they would be departing may well still find themselves at the club come the start of February.
With everyone pulling in the right direction and giving everything on the pitch for Conte and their teammates, that only bodes well for Tottenham going forward.
Spurs fans could be in for a very good 2022 going on how things have gone under Conte in his first seven weeks.
