Antonio Conte issues Cristian Romero update and confirms another Tottenham injury ahead of Leeds

Antonio Conte has confirmed that Cristian Romero will miss Sunday's match against Leeds United through injury.

Representing Argentina on international duty over the past fortnight with World Cup qualifiers taking place, the Spurs man was forced off in the 53rd minute of their 0-0 draw with Brazil.

Romero appeared to be clutching his hamstring while laying on the ground and it subsequently left all at Tottenham sweating over the extent of the issue.

Returning to Hotspur Way on Thursday and having a scan to determine the outcome of the injury, Conte has now revealed that the player will need another scan as well as confirming that Giovani Lo Celso also came back to London with an issue.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way, he said: "Bad news about Cristian Romeo and his injury. I spoke with the doctors and now is right to wait seven to 10 days for another scan to understand the time he needs to recover.

"Also Giovani Lo Celso didn’t come back perfect physically. I don't know about him if he'll be available (for Sunday).

"For sure Romero is not available, Lo Celso I don’t know. The rest of the team, we have all the players."
