Antonio Conte insists Harry Kane is ‘totally involved’ in Tottenham project

Antonio Conte has insisted Harry Kane is happy at Tottenham and moved to praise the England captain’s attitude behind the scenes.

This season has been perhaps the most difficult in the 28-year-old’s career, scoring only two Premier League goals thus far after a failed move to Manchester City dominated headlines across the summer.

It must be said, of course, that there were signs of improvement during the 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend, although few would argue Kane has been anywhere near his best.

Still, Conte - who has previously claimed it was hard to imagine a scenario in which he would drop Kane - waxed lyrical about the striker’s commitment to the cause.

"Harry has showed me great availability and showed me [he is] totally involved in the Tottenham project,” he said ahead of Spurs’ Boxing Day clash at home to Crystal Palace.

"I see him every day and I see that he is happy.

"He leads in the training ground, he leads in the dressing room and he leads during the training sessions in a fantastic way. I am happy for what I am seeing every day."
