Tottenham are 'growing increasingly confident' of appointing Antonio Conte as the club's new manager.
And the Italian appears to have identified his first transfer ahead of what is shaping up to be an interesting summer window for the north London outfit.
According to the Telegraph, talks are ongoing with Conte and are apparently 'centred' around his contract and the number of staff he will be allowed to bring along to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, football.london reported on Wednesday evening that Spurs are likely to name the former Chelsea head coach as their new boss to replace Jose Mourinho who was sacked in April.
Conte is reportedly expected to be handed a three-year deal in north London if an agreement can be reached.
Once the former Inter Milan boss is appointed he will naturally look for ways to improve a Spurs squad that finished seventh in the Premier League during the 2020/21 campaign.
If reports are to be believed then Conte wants to bring in a new striker as according to Tuttosport, he is eyeing a move Torino striker Andrea Belotti.
The Italy international is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and now could be the time for him to leave with the Serie A side said to be wanting a fee of €25m (£21.4m).
Belotti has been linked with a move to Spurs in the past, but much could depend on whether or not Harry Kane stays put this summer amid talk of joining Manchester City.
Belotti has been one of Serie A's most consistent goalscorers in recent years, reaching double figures in goals for the last six seasons in a row.
But at 27, it might be the right time for a new experience.
With that said, he could end up staying in Italy with Roma - now managed by Mourinho - AC Milan and Atalanta all said to be interested.
