Antonio Conte drops hint over Milan Skriniar's Inter Milan future amid Tottenham transfer links

Jose Mourinho now just has over a week to complete any remaining transfer business.

Already bringing Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Gareth Bale to the club this summer, the Tottenham boss isn't quite done in the market just yet.

A new striker is needed to provide cover for Harry Kane and the head coach is also intent on adding to his defence with a centre-back.

Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and football.london understands that the Slovakian is indeed keen on linking up with Mourinho in the capital.

Milan Skriniar wants Spurs move

The centre-back was an unused substitute on Saturday evening as Inter beat Fiorentina 4-3 at the San Siro and, given the transfer deadline is Monday, October 5, manager Antonio Conte was asked about talk of his player joining Spurs.

"Skriniar to Tottenham? He's part of our project here at Inter," the ex-Chelsea boss told Sky Sport (via Fabrizio Romano).

"But I don't know if an important bid will arrive in the coming days... it's possible that the club will consider it because of the financial situation".

The Serie A giants are believed to want around £45million for the 25-year-old but football.london understands that Spurs are looking at a deal closer to £32m and then with add-ons on top to try and tempt the Nerazzurri into agreeing on a fee.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was asked about Skriniar ahead of the Fiorentina game but stated that they didn't want to part with their centre-back before the transfer deadline.

"I can only confirm that there was a meeting with Tottenham," he told DAZN.

"We had a meeting but we told them we don’t want to sell also Skriniar after Diego Godin. He is not on the market and we do not plan to deprive ourselves of him."
