Antonio Conte confident Hugo Lloris will sign new Tottenham deal

Antonio Conte says he is confident Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris will sign a new deal with the club.

Lloris, who turned 35 on Boxing Day, is out of contract at the end of the season and able to sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs from January 1.

The France skipper is in his tenth season at Spurs, having joined from Lyon in 2012, and is thought to be open to finishing his career in USA’s Major League Soccer or his native south of France.

But Conte believes Lloris and the club will be able to reach an agreement for the World Cup winner to extend his stay in north London.

Asked if he was confident Lloris wanted to remain at Spurs, Conte said: "I think so, I think so.

"I think Hugo wants to stay in this club, he loves this club, he stays well in Tottenham. I think this could be his opinion.

"Hugo is Tottenham captain. For sure, he will talk with the club to try to find a solution."
