Details of Hugo Lloris injury emerge as Tottenham given worry before Arsenal North London Derby

Hugo Lloris will not be part of France's international games over the next week after dropping out of the squad through injury. Called up by manager Didier Deschamps for the UEFA Nations League matches against Austria and Denmark this week, Lloris was present at their Clairefontaine base on Monday but a small injury to his right thigh was diagnosed by the team's doctor.

As a result, the World Cup winner will return to Tottenham and look to get back to full fitness as soon as possible. Following last Saturday's 6-2 win over Leicester City, Spurs will return to action with a North London Derby showdown against Arsenal at the Emirates.

A statement on Les Bleus' official website read: "Present Monday morning at the National Football Center in Clairefontaine, Hugo Lloris consulted Dr. Franck Le Gall.

"A small injury to the right thigh has been diagnosed to the Tottenham goalkeeper. He is therefore unavailable for the two matches against Austria on Thursday at the Stade de France and in Denmark on Sunday.

"To replace him, Didier Deschamps called on Alban Lafont. The Nantes goalkeeper is expected during the day at Clairefontaine."

Conte and Spurs will be hoping Lloris' injury is nothing serious, especially with a mouth-watering showdown against Arsenal next on the agenda. As well as the injury to the goalkeeper, there are already question marks over whether Ben Davies will be fit enough for the game after he missed out against Leicester.

The Welshman is facing a period of three weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hairline fracture to the bone just underneath his knee. Conte provided an update on the long-serving defender ahead of the win over the Foxes.

"He had an injury in his knee in the game against Sporting Lisbon, and he played with this injury," he told Sky Sports. "Not a serious injury, I think, after the international break because, with the national team, he is not available. But I think after the international break, he will be available for us."
