Antonio Callaway, Sione Takitaki among Browns missing Monday’s practice

The Cleveland Browns are back home in Berea after the successful trip to Indianapolis for joint practices and the preseason win over the Colts. Training camp is now officially over and the practice sessions are back to just being accessible for local media.

Those in attendance saw several Browns working to the side with trainers. Even after welcoming back tight ends David Njoku and Seth DeValve, as well as DE Chad Thomas, there were still eight players idled due to injury.

Most notable on the list is wideout Antonio Callaway, who is battling an ankle injury. He has not practiced since his 4-game suspension was announced and the coincidental timing is not ideal for the second-year receiver.

Third-round rookie LB Sione Takitaki also sat out Monday. He has missed the last few days with a hamstring issue.

That’s a common malady in Cleveland right now. Also sitting with hamstring injuries were CB T.J. Carrie, RB Dontrell Hilliard and CB Juston Burris. DT Brian Price and WR Ishmael Hyman have concussions, while S Jermaine Whitehead remains sidelined with a groin issue.
