Antonio Brown won't face criminal charges for two of three alleged incidents

For everyone keeping track of Antonio Brown saga, the receiver was at Patriots practice on Wednesday. That's a sign that he'll play this weekend against the New York Jets. Off the field, we also learned that the receiver won't face charges stemming from at least two sexual-assault allegations from his former trainer, Britney Taylor.

Law enforcement in the Pittsburgh area looked into the allegations, but Brown won't face prosecution due to the statute of limitations. On Wednesday, the NFL Network received a statement from the Allegheny County District Attorney & Police Department.

"Our office, along with the Allegheny County Police Department, made contact with the counsel for the plaintiff in the federal lawsuit involving Antonio Brown. Procedurally, it appears there is a statute of limitations issue in moving forward with any inquiry involving the Allegheny County allegation mentioned in the lawsuit."

That alleged incident was in 2017. Last week, Taylor filed a civil lawsuit against Brown, claiming three separate incidents of sexual assault _ one in Pittsburgh in 2017 and two others in Florida in 2017 and May 2018. According to the NFL Network, Brown also won't face charges for the incident in Florida in 2017 due to the statute of limitations.

It's unclear if Brown will face any charges from the allegation from 2018. In the civil lawsuit, Taylor accuses Brown of raping her in his Miami-area home at that time.

The NFL is in the middle of their investigation into the allegations. The league reportedly met with his accuser for 10 hours on Monday. The NFL could place Brown on the exempt list, which would make him ineligible to play, but the receiver is still here and as of Wednesday, looks like he'll play his first home game in Gillette Stadium.
