Antonio Brown traded from Steelers to Raiders

Antonio Brown will not be kicking the Cleveland Browns again anytime soon. The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to trade the All-Pro wide receiver to the Oakland Raiders at the dawn of Daylight Savings Time.

After weeks of catty exchanges between the soon-to-be 31-year-old wideout and a Pittsburgh team increasingly wary of his antics, the Steelers finally found an acceptable return for Brown. Oakland will send two draft picks next month,  third- and fifth-round selections, to acquire Brown.

The Raiders are going to give Brown a new contract, which is part of why other teams bowed out of the sweepstakes. Even so, dumping Brown costs the Steelers over $20 million in 2019 salary cap room.

The Browns were never considered serious suitors for doing business with their AFC North rivals. Cleveland and Oakland do not play in 2019.
