The Buffalo Bills made an attempt to acquire superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown in a trade, according to various reports, but the Steelers are still searching for a trade partner to deal their disgruntled star as of Friday. A Brown trade could be on the verge of happening, however, according to Brown himself.
It was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Thursday night that the Bills and Steelers were close on a deal, though other reporters called the trade “unlikely.” Once the deal was ultimately dead, Rapoport said on Friday that Brown would not commit to playing in Buffalo, and his apparent control over the Steelers isn’t helping his trade value.
Brown posted a live stream of his workout in Florida on Friday, and he made some interesting comments about his future. One person with Brown in the gym commented that he was already wearing black and grey, implying that Brown could be headed to the Raiders. Brown stated that he was going to announce his new team shortly.
“Hey I’m going to announce my new team in like a little bit, alright?”
In another clip, Brown said he may “be somewhere” by this time on Saturday.
“Don’t believe what they say about fake news, you heard? I’m telling you. And stay tuned, though. AB might be somewhere in less than 24 hours.”
Brown is able to influence his destination, but he doesn’t have the power to trade himself, so he may just be trolling fans over a new sponsorship deal or something unrelated to a trade. Either way, Raiders fans are pumped.
