Antonio Brown on playing on a new team: ‘If they wanna play, they gonna play by my rules’

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown sat down with ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington to get some things off his chest about the fractured relationship between the Steelers and himself. A lot of what Brown told Darlington was a re-hash of what he’s said in recent weeks on social media but he did offer some new information that could be vitally important to his next team.

When asked about where Brown was going to play next and if he was worried teams would weigh in his behavior Brown laid it all out there. “I don’t even have to play football, bro,” Brown said. “I don’t even need the game. If they wanna play, they gonna play by my rules.”

In listening to Brown speak it was pretty obvious he is more than willing to walk away from football if the situation isn’t exactly what he wants. I assume this means the perfect team and the perfect contract. Brown talked like he didn’t care about money and bragged about how rich he already is but this runs counter to his Instagram Live video on the elliptical where he was screaming for guaranteed money and talking about how many kids he had.

Either way, Brown is doing his best to control this situation and it feels like he’s willing to just not play if things don’t go his way. Will these types of comments scare some teams away from taking a chance on him knowing he might just take his ball and go home if he doesn’t get his way? We will find out soon.
