Antonio Brown continues apology tour with message for Ben Roethlisberger

Unemployed wide receiver Antonio Brown is still hopeful that he can return to the NFL in the upcoming season, and following his latest off-field controversy, Brown has spent the offseason attempting to make amends for his often erratic behavior. Brown has publicly apologized to the police department of Hollywood, Florida, to his former Steelers teammates, to the NFL as a whole. On Wednesday morning, Brown shared a message for ex-teammate Ben Roethlisberger, who Brown criticized repeatedly in 2019.

“Mostly you a little bit of me ! Yee yee !! I never realized how good I had it, got caught up in my emotion with everyone coming after me I really apologize for my actions sincerely man ! It’s never been another connection like what we done in the past decade. I appreciate you. Sincerely AB”

Brown, of course, was traded from Pittsburgh months after explosive reports that he and Roethlisberger had an altercation at practice which caused Brown to miss a Week 17 game. Last February, Brown sounded off on Roethlisberger on Twitter, writing that Big Ben has an “owner mentality.”

During an appearance on LeBron James’ HBO series The Shop, Brown opened up on his beef with Roethlisberger, and addressed Big Ben’s public criticism of Brown over the years.

“[That’s] the type of guy he is. He feels like he’s the owner. Bro, you threw the [expletive] to the D-lineman. How the [expletive] am I going to run a better route? You need to give me a better ball. In the league, you’re going to have a guy from the team that’ll be like, ‘boy, you can’t say nothing. I need you to get out there like… But it’s like, why I got to be acting?”

In August, Brown sent a now-deleted tweet asking Roethlisberger to “shut up already,” and claiming they were “never friends.”
