Antoni Sarcevic injury update ahead of Bolton Wanderers taking on Forest Green Rovers

Bolton Wanderers skipper Antoni Sarcevic is recovering well from his torn hamstring but the League Two side will take care when planning his route back to fitness.

The 29-year-old picked up the injury in the win on the road against Port Vale earlier this month.

Ian Evatt has previously said he expects the Wanderers midfielder to be out for several weeks.

Ahead of this weekend's clash on the road against Forest Green Rovers, Evatt confirmed Sarcevic is doing well in his recovery and is more or less pain free.

Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns prior to heading to Gloucestershire and Evatt also gave an update on how long term absentees Dennis Politic and Liam Edwards are progressing.

He said: “The rest of the players are fit and healthy. Sarce is still recovering but doing well. He’s more or less pain free now but we have to be careful because of where the tear is.

"Dennis is growing and getting better every day but we won’t rush him because it was a serious injury and we need to give him as much time as he needs to recover properly, and Liam Edwards similar.

"We’re in a good place. The lads are refreshed from not having midweek games so full of energy and ready to go."
