Anton replacing Motsi on Strictly as dancer steps in after judge goes into self-isolation

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have revealed that, after much speculation, judge Motsi Mabuse will be replaced by a huge fan favourite on this Saturday's live show.

Hours after Nicola Adams and Katya Jones were forced to withdraw from the show after Katya tested positive for coronavirus, Motsdi took to Twitter to reveal she'd too be absent from Saturday's Strictly live show.

She told her many followers: "Hi guys – Earlier this week I needed to travel to Germany for an urgent reason.

"I will of course be following UK government guidelines and self-isolating for 14 days.

"I’ll be watching from home and by the power of technology, should be in your living rooms. ‘Watch out though, I’ll be doing my own hair and make-up!"

A huge rumour quickly circulated that Strictly pro Anton du Beke would stand-in and on Friday afternoon his role was confirmed by a tweet on the show's official Twitter account.

It said: "We are pleased to announce that the King of Ballroom Anton du Beke is stepping into our Judging panel this weekend

"Good luck Anton!"

Many Strictly fans are overjoyed at Anton stepping in. One reacted: "Can definitely see Anton as a long- term judge," and another tweeted: "About time"

Former contestant Chris Ramsey was also quick to respond, declaring: "YESSSSS!!!
