Anton Du Beke set for slot on This Morning sofa after cha-cha-charming producers

He's hoping to waltz into Strictly’s empty judges’ seat.

But in the meantime I can reveal Anton Du Beke has cha-cha-charmed his way onto the This Morning sofa.

The Strictly pro is stepping into Eamonn Holmes’s shoes to co-host the popular ITV show alongside Rochelle Humes, from 10.30am this Friday.

It’s a huge vote of confidence in Anton, who has recently won This Morning viewers over with his current ‘Anton du Bake, Baking Fails’ spot.

Speaking exclusively, Anton said: “I can’t wait. I’ve big boots to fill, but hopefully viewers will welcome me with open arms. No doubt they’ll be a sprinkling of dancing with Rochelle at some point.”

It comes after Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood said Anton, 52, could be a “great” replacement for Strictly’s departing judge Darcey Bussell, before revealing that judges will each do a dance with a celeb this year, just like on Australian and the US versions.

Whisking former contestant and This Morning host Ruth Langsford off her feet, Craig laughed: “This year is going to be very interesting. You put yourself on the line, so to speak.”

Surely whichever celeb lands Craig will send their agent quickstepping to the job centre?
