Anton Du Beke drops MAJOR hint that Harry Redknapp could join Strictly Come Dancing in This Morning slip-up

Anton Du Beke dropped a major hint that Harry Redknapp could take part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing as he made his This Morning debut.

After dancing through the studio in an extended opening sequence, the Strictly veteran proceeded to name the upcoming guests on today’s show along with co-host Rochelle Humes.

Introducing Redknapp ahead of his segment, Du Beke seemed to slip up as he told viewers: “He’s the king of the jungle, but he’s set to join me…”

He quickly corrected his error by turning his statement into a question, continuing: “Oops! Or is he set to join me on the Strictly dance floor? We’re chatting to Harry Redknapp on his autobiography.”

Later in the show, the football manager and I’m A Celebrity winner went on to explain that he’d be wary about taking part in the BBC contest as he has “two left feet when it comes to dancing.”

“Why didn’t you come on the show, why didn’t you come and have a dance?” Du Beke asked Redknapp, who replied: “I couldn’t dance to start with. I’ve got two left feet when it comes to dancing.”

Harry Redknapp claims he can't dance

He revealed that a Strictly dancer had “come down to [his] house” to teach him to “cha cha cha,” but claimed his lack of talent might have put show bosses off.

“They said ‘If we bring a dancer down, if you don’t feel you can do it, don’t do it,’” Redknapp sad.

“So Amy came down, she was fantastic. So she’s got me doing the cha cha cha. At first they said we’re going to the local golf club, we’ve got a hall there.”

He joked that he didn’t want to practice at the local venue as his “mates will talk,” so the pair eventually rehearsed “around the kitchen.”

“I trod on her toes a few times and I think she thought, ‘No, he can’t dance!’”

Redknapp’s former daughter-in-law Louise appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016. The singer was paired with Kevin Clifton and eventually made it to the final, before losing out to Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10.30am.
