Antoine Griezmann 'understands his situation' at Barcelona, insists Quique Setien

Barcelona coach Quique Setien says he has spoken to Antoine Griezmann after sending on the French forward in the dying seconds against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

Setien was criticised by members of Griezmann's family after he was introduced right at the end of the 2-2 draw, replacing Arturo Vidal just before stoppage time at Camp Nou.

The 61-year-old said after the game that he would speak to the 29-year-old, but that he had no intention of apologising to the former Atletico attacker.

Asked about Griezmann in a press conference on Saturday, the Barca coach said: "He's fine. I have exchanged some words with him. He's a fantastic professional.

"He can understand his situation because he has experienced it before. He's professional and an extraordinary lad.

"It won't affect him because he is very positive. We can count on him 100 per cent."

Griezmann has been left on the bench by Setien for Barcelona's last two matches and is yet to score since the restart, but the Frenchman could feature from the outset at Villarreal on Sunday.
