Antoine Griezmann picks Premier League star he wants to play with at Barcelona

Barcelona new boy Antoine Griezmann has revealed how he keeps a close eye on the Premier League, and would love to team up with one of the division's sharp-shooters at the Nou Camp.

While the Frenchman has also backed Liverpool to end what will be 30-year wait for a top-flight title in the coming campaign.

Griezmann completed a £107million switch from Atletico Madrid to Barca earlier this month, although Diego Simeone's side remain unhappy with the way the deal played out.

The 28-year-old had previously been linked with both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United , but his switch to Catalonia throws up the tantalising prospect of him linking up with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in attack, with the prospect of Neymar also potentially still to join them this summer.

In an interview with Sky Sports , Griezmann admitted that he has had the chance to move to the Premier League in the past - with United strongly linked - but he's happy in La Liga.

"I was having a lot of fun in La Liga," he said when discussing his transfer decision.

"We have one thing the Premier League does not - the sun."

Griezmann added that he would love to team up with his France international colleague Alexandre Lacazette at Barca, even though there is little chance that the former Lyon man will leave Arsenal - for whom he has scored 36 goals in 88 appearances since moving to north London in 2017.

"I would love to play with Lacazette," said Griezmann.

"He's a friend of mine, we played together in the national team. He's an amazing player, has a lot of talent."

On Liverpool's title prospects, Griezmann added that he hoped they would lift the trophy for their fans, saying: "They deserve to win the Premier League, hopefully one day they will win it again.”
