Liverpool continue to be linked with a host of players, as Jurgen Klopp takes a view on where to strengthen his squad during the transfer window.
As fresh rumours about the potential new Anfield arrivals continue to surface, we have taken a look at the latest pieces of gossip to see what they could mean for the Reds.
Who?
Antoine Griezmann, Barcelona forward.
Where?
Reports have claimed that Liverpool are interested in signing Griezmann this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds, as well as Manchester United and Arsenal, have been put on alert with Barca contemplating letting the France international depart.
The report goes on to state that Griezmann was promised to replace Lionel Messi as Barca’s main talisman by manager Ronald Koeman, but those plans are in tatters after the Argentine announced he would not be leaving the Nou Camp this summer.
It has also been claimed that Barca will need to trim their squad, with Griezmann potentially being heading for the exit door despite only arriving 12 months ago in a £107m deal with Atletico Madrid.
What?
This is a rumour that has come from nowhere, with the Reds been tentatively linked with the World Cup winner.
Griezmann was a player who was briefly linked as a potential target a couple of summers ago, but that rumour was quickly shot down.
Now the rumours seems to have resurfaced, with the news that Griezmann may leave the Nou Camp due to Messi staying put.
Whatever the reason for the rumour is, we can safely disregard the chances of the 29-year-old moving to Anfield anytime soon.
Who?
Gini Wijnaldum, Liverpool midfielder.
Where?
Wijnaldum continues to be linked with an Anfield exit, with Barcelona the club frequently tipped as a potential destination.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants will look to bring Wijnaldum and Netherlands team-mate Memphis Depay to the Camp Nou in the coming weeks.
Romano goes on to state that if such a deal were to go through this would prompt Liverpool into making a move for Thiago Alcantara.
What?
Another rumour that seemingly will not go away.
Wijnaldum has just less than 12 months left on his contract with the Reds, and has been a vital cog in Klopp’s machine since his arrival on Merseyside.
The chances of Klopp allowing one of his key players to leave on the eve of their Premier League title defence is unlikely, but whether Barca’s interest is genuine remains to be seen.
Who?
Thiago Alcantara, Bayern Munich midfielder.
Where?
Sticking with Barcelona, and reports in Spain have claimed that the La Liga club are interested in signing Thiago this summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca boss Koeman is exploring the possibility of bringing the 29-year-old back to the Nou Camp, amid reported interest from Liverpool.
The Reds continue to be linked with the Spain international, who has less than 12 months left on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
What?
Yet another player whose name cannot stop being linked with a transfer before the October 5 deadline.
A move to Liverpool has been the biggest link with regards to Thiago this summer, and Barca’s rumoured interest in a new twist.
Midfield seems to be where Koeman would like to strengthen this summer, but whether a return for Thiago, who left Barca in 2013, is on the cards also remains to be seen.
