Antjuan Simmons, Jacub Panasiuk named to PFF Big Ten Team of the Week

The two Michigan State players who made the PFF Big Ten Team of the Week this week might surprise you. It wasn’t Kenny Willekes (although maybe it should have been), it wasn’t Raequan Williams, it wasn’t Joe Bachie. Or David Dowell. Or Josiah Scott. It was Antjuan Simmons and Jacub Panasiuk.

Panasiuk was also named to PFF’s National Team of the Week.

Those are two undoubtedly talented players but also two guys who were not necessarily the odds-on favorite to have, according to PFF, the best week of any other Spartans.

This continues what has been a special week for Antjuan Simmons. Of course, we covered the article from Jeff Seidel of the Detroit Free Press about Simmons’ father, who is still extremely supportive and involved with his son from behind prison walls. Simmons had his breakout game just a day after the piece came out.

Simmons had 6 hard-hitting tackles, a sack, and an interception. Panasiuk had 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Jacub Panasiuk is, of course, the younger brother of Spartan veteran Mike Panasiuk and has been getting a lot of hype this summer as someone who has greatly improved his game.
