'Antivaxxers' vow to boycott Tesco after 'sinister' Christmas advert controversy

'Antivaxxers' have vowed to boycott Tesco after the supermarket giant launched their new Christmas Advert.

The ad sparked outrage as it showed Santa Clause could potentially have to quarantine, causing fear and upset to the children eagerly waiting for him to deliver their Christmas presents.

However, all fear fades when Santa flashes his Covid Vaccination Cert to a border patrol guard, meaning he will be able to travel all across the world in just one night.

Many found the advert to be a playful nod to the hardships the pandemic has brought while showing that Covid is now a part of our lives and not to be forgotten about during the festive period.

But the ad also prompted criticism on social media and led to a #BoycottTesco campaign on Twitter.

One user wrote: "This is an opportunity to truly make an important point.

"If everyone boycotted Tesco for their Christmas shopping/food, they'd feel it and every other retailer and business would take notice".

Another said: "Tesco will have no choice but to pull their ad.

"Everybody except the braindead sheep can see that it's got nothing to do with Christmas at all – it's purpose is to push out sinister government 'nudging' by attempting to normalise this disgusting medical apartheid!"

While a third said: "Did I really just see a Christmas TV as on ITV for Tesco to Queen's 'Don't Stop me Now' hit with families having fun / flying abroad etc & then a guy smiling flashing up his smart phone with a COVID passport on it??

"Omg I am never shopping at Tesco again".

However, others felt the boycott of Tesco would work in the supermarket's favour as it was now a safer place to shop.

One person tweeted: "Absolutely f***ing genius stroke by Tesco, to show Santa using a vaccine passport on his phone.

"Immediately triggered all the anti-vaxxers into boycotting the store, meaning it's the safest place to go and do your supermarket shop.

"So many birds with one stone".

Another said: "Absolutely loving the #Boycotttesco campaign as:

"1. With 90%+ of adults vaccinated the idea that Tesco is going to collapse without anti-vaxxers is hysterical.

"2. Any significant amount of anti-vaxxers absence from Tesco makes the shopping chain even safer for the rest of us".
