Antiques Roadshow guest stunned after discovering value of Liverpool jug sat in loft for 30 years

An Antiques Roadshow guest was stunned to hidden gems. of a jug which had sat in his loft for the past 30 years.

The team were at Media City in Salford discovering a number of hidden gems.

The first guest on the show brought a jug with three spouts made out of blue and white pottery.

He was informed by the expert, it was a 18th century Liverpool Delftware puzzle jug used for drinking.

The style, inspired by Chinese ceramics, was produced in the city from about 1710 to 1760, according to Encyclopedia Britannia.

The guest explained he remembered seeing his dad use the jug for holding paintbrushes and pens in his garden shed.

Since, it had been sitting in his loft for the past 30 years.

But the guest was stunned when the expert revealed it was worth £2,000.

He said: "Collectors would love to drink their beer out of that."

Viewers were also astounded by the value of the jug, with fans taking to Twitter.

One wrote: "A crazy jug worth £2,000 - nice start!"
