Do you have an old phone stuffed in the back of a forgotten drawer in your house?
Well, today may be the day to go digging and cash in as they could be worth thousands of euro.
An antiques website called LoveAntiques.com has released a list of the most valuable old-school phones that may be lying around your house, and the prices they are offering are jaw-dropping.
Topping off the list is the pre-production prototype iPhone 1, which was released in 2007.
If you managed to hold onto this oldie, you could nab yourself a pretty penny of over €11,700.
The phones are valued based on the software installed on the device, the exact model and, of course, how rare they are.
If the phone also has some sort of ‘cult status’ with a dedicated group of fans, its value increases even more.
Other phones on the list include old Nokias and Motorola models.
According to LoveAntiques.com, the 10 most valuable phones that you may have previously deemed worthless are:
1. Pre-production prototype iPhone 1 - €11,700+
2. Motorola 8000x - €940 - €4,100
3. Nokia 7700 - €1,175 - €2,350
4. Mobira Senator NMT- €940 - €2,350
5. IBM Simon Personal Communicator- €940 - €2,350
6. Nokia Sapphire 8800 - €590 - €2,350
7. Technophone PC105T - €700 - €1,750
8. Orbitel Citiphone- €700 - €1,175
9. Ericsson R290 Satellite Phone - €350 - €1,175
10. Rainbow StarTAC - €115 - €470
If any of these phones sound familiar, you could be in for a payday.
Will Thomas of LoveAntiques.com told LadBible, “As something most people use every day, it's almost strange to think of mobile phones as antiques, but as we outlined with our 'Antech' category the pace of technological advancements means that a lot of them are nearing that stage.
"It is safe to say that there are some weird and wonderful models out there, some I'm sure a lot of people today wouldn't even know were phones and yet they can be worth an enormous amount."
