Star lookalike booked for breach of peace

Additional deputy commissioner of police, West Zone, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, said the accused Azam Ansari was shooting a video on a song of Salman Khan in Ghantaghar park at around 4pm on Sunday. While a shirtless Azam was shooting the video on Salman song, some people started applauding him and shooting videos but some onlookers and passers-by objected to his shirtless act in public. Azam had a spat with them, and tempers flew when he did not stop.A police team reached the spot on hearing commotion, tried to pacify the locals and requested Azam to wear his shirt.

“But Azam refused, leading to resentment in the public which demanded action against him,” said Sinha. “We have booked and arrested him for breach of peace, and disturbing public tranquility,” the officer said. TOI spoke to Azam’s sister-in-law, Sana Ansari, who said he is currently out of work. He had a shop of fabrication work, is married and has two children, she said. “All friends, relatives and neighbours used to say that he resembles film actor Salman Khan so he started copying his mannerisms and shooting videos to gain popularity,” she added.
