Anti-vaxxers storm pharmacy and threaten to 'use force' to stop them giving jabs

A group of anti-vax protestors walked into a pharmacy demanding that staff call the police and hand over their vaccines as evidence.

One of the group, who said his name was Matt, was caught on camera saying he had the "right to use force" to stop them administering the Covid injections and also claimed to be a " Commonwealth constable".

He tried to claim "the vaccine is getting stopped", which is not true.

The incident, which happened at Exel Chemist in Normanton in Wakefield on Sunday saw the man tell employees at the pharmacy: "You will be arrested."

The incident happened at around 1pm when the man marched into the chemist as another anti-vax protestor filmed him.

Two other men accompanied them inside as they proclaimed: "There are going to be no vaccinations taking place in here today."

A video obtained by Yorkshire Live shows the man falsely claiming: "The actual vaccine is under criminal investigation by the Met Police".

This is not true.

The man then asked staff to "confiscate the vials and bag it as evidence" adding: "You have to phone the police."

When quizzed on whether he had a warrant, the man said he did not.

He added: "When the police come, you will be arrested if you carry on. I can use force.

"I have the power to prevent crime with force."

He then rang 999, but a call handler told him: "The vaccines aren't under criminal investigation."

Despite warning staff he might "use force", he is later shown on film telling a police officer: "We did not go in there to intimidate, to threat, to cause stress or alarm."

The video ends with Matt admitting: "Is it [the falsely claimed criminal investigation] active? Is it going to work? I have not got a f****g clue."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said : "Police attended at a pharmacy on High Street, Normanton, during the afternoon of Sunday, January 16, following a report of an anti-vaccine protest at the location involving a small number of people.

"Four people were given advice by attending officers. No offences were reported by staff or customers in the pharmacy.

"Neighbourhood policing officers continue to monitor vaccine sites to provide reassurance to staff and members of the public."
