Anti-social elements will be strictly dealt with: Director General of Police C. Sylendra Babu

Director General of Police C. Sylendra Babu on Thursday said anti-social and rowdy elements operating in the State would be strictly dealt with.

Reviewing the law and order situation with senior police officers from Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Kallakurichi districts at the District Police Office here, Mr. Babu said no criminal would be allowed to roam scot-free.

He directed officers to control the ganja menace in the Villupuram range (Villupuram, Cuddalore and Kallakurichi districts). If warranted, the Goondas Act should also be invoked against ganja peddlers. The police should also initiate stringent action against those involved in crimes against women and children, he said, and also asked the personnel to strictly enforce traffic rules to avoid accidents.

DIG Villupuram range M. Pandian, Superintendents of Police N. Shreenatha of Villupuram, S. Sakthi Ganesan of Cuddalore and S. Selvakumar of Kallakurichi participated in the meeting.
