Anti-racism protesters rally against Donald Trump's UK visit in Leeds city centre

Dozens of anti-racism protesters gathered at Dortmund Square in Leeds city centre to protest against Donald Trump's state visit to the United Kingdom.

Event organisers 'Leeds Stand Up For Racism' urged those in attendance to sign a petition marked 'Trump not welcome'.

The Facebook event page described Trump as a "symbol of the Far Right, the politics of Islamophobia and antisemitism, of war and conflict, of climate change denial, of sexism and transphobia and walls and fences that are growing around the world."

Similar protests have been organised up and down the country, with opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn set to address anti-Trump protesters at a huge London event on Tuesday (04/06).

The divisive president is set to hold talks with departing Prime Minister Theresa May while in the country, and he and First Lady Melania Trump arrive as guests of the Queen.

A security operation costing millions of pounds has been deployed in London where significant anti and pro Trump protests are expected.
