Anti-racism group urges Dubs urged to donate winter coats to people in Direct Provision ahead of cold months

A Dublin anti-racism organisation has issued a plea for winter clothes for people in Direct Provision as temperatures have seen a significant drop over the recent weeks.

Fingal Communities Against Racism have urged people to donate their winter coats and jumpers this weekend.

The donations will be given to children and adults living in Direct Provision to help them get through the cold months ahead.

The collections will be happening in parts of north Dublin on the following days and times:

Saturday

  • Donabate - Community club carpark 1-2 pm.
  • Rush - Church carpark by library 1-2 pm.
  • Balbriggan - to be confirmed shortly.

Sunday

  • Malahide - Grand Hotel entrance 1-2 pm
  • Baldoyle - Community Hall 1-2 pm

A spokesperson for the group said on Facebook: "Fingal Communities Against Racism are collecting winter coats and jumpers (washed please!) for adults and children in Direct Provision.

"We would be delighted to have your donations."
