'Anti-Pride' preacher drowned out during march - then has sign pinched

A video has captured the moment Christians drowned out an 'anti-Pride preacher' during today's march (July 13).

The streets of Bristol were filled with rainbow flags and extravagant costumes as thousands marched through the city for Bristol Pride 2019.

While the event was met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction from Bristolians, it also attracted the odd person against Pride principles of equality and visibility for all.

However one particular outspoken individual did not appear to  be having a particularly good day of it.

Video footage shared on Twitter shows him standing on the pavement next to the march in the city centre , carrying a sign with scripture from the Bible.

However, his message is soon drowned out by members of Christians at Pride, with one woman carrying a sign that says: "Where there is God, there is love."

According to the group's website, the goal of Christians at Pride is to "share a message of inclusive love to a community that has been shunned and hurt by the church worldwide."

The group says: "We believe God's inclusive love is for all, and that all of our sexual and gender identities reflect the beauty of who God is."

Their actions are met with applause and cheers from the Pride parade, with one passerby saying: "Well done. That's the God I serve."

After being shown up the 'preacher' can then be seen chasing after somebody who had pinched his sign.
